SK Beveren is verheugd de komst van Ferre Slegers aan te kondigen. De 20-jarige Belg komt over van MVV Maastricht en tekende bij geel-blauw een contract voor de komende drie seizoenen.
Ferre Slegers genoot zijn opleiding bij KRC Genk, waar hij zowat de volledige jeugdopleiding doorliep. In de zomer van 2022 maakte hij de overstap naar de buren van Sint-Truiden. Een jaar later werd hij opgepikt door het Nederlandse MVV Maastricht uit de Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Bij MVV bewees hij meteen zijn waarde: in zijn debuutseizoen kwam hij in zo’n 34 wedstrijden in actie, goed voor vier doelpunten en vijf assists. Afgelopen seizoen werd hij meer als invaller ingezet, maar sprokkelde hij toch opnieuw zo’n 1.000 speelminuten. In totaal kwam hij 64 keer uit voor MVV, waarin hij zes doelpunten maakte en evenveel assists gaf.
Ferre liet zich in de jeugd al opmerken, wat hem nationale selecties opleverde voor de U15, U16 en U20. Het aantrekken van Ferre onderstreept de ambitie van de club om jong talent met groeipotentieel kansen te geven.

“Met Ferre halen we een linksvoetige speler met veel potentieel binnen die zowel centraal als op de flanken kan spelen. Hij beschikt over heel wat techniek en spelinzicht en bewees, met meer dan 60 wedstrijden in de Keuken Kampioen Divisie, al op jonge leeftijd zijn waarde. Zijn profiel is vergelijkbaar met dat van Mathis Servais. We hopen dat hij zijn talent bij ons verder zal ontplooien.”

FERRE SLEGERS JOINS BEVEREN!
SK Beveren are pleased to confirm the arrival of Ferre Slegers. The 20-year-old Belgian joins from MVV Maastricht and has signed a three-year deal with the Yellow and Blue.
Slegers came through the youth academy of KRC Genk, where he progressed through every age group. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Sint-Truiden before making the switch a year later to Dutch side MVV Maastricht in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
At MVV, he immediately proved his worth, featuring in 34 matches during his debut season, scoring four goals and providing five assists. Last season he was used more frequently as a substitute, but still collected around 1,000 minutes of action. In total, he made 64 appearances for MVV, registering six goals and six assists.
On the international stage, Slegers has represented Belgium at U15, U16 and U20 level. His arrival reflects the club’s ambition to provide opportunities for young talents with strong potential.
