SK Beveren heeft een akkoord bereikt met Clermont Foot 63 over de definitieve overgang van rechtsachter Cheick Oumar Konaté.
De 22-jarige Malinese international ondertekent op de Freethiel een contract tot medio 2028, met een optie op een extra seizoen.
Konaté genoot zijn opleiding bij FC Guidars in Bamako en maakte in 2022 de overstap naar Clermont Foot. Daar debuteerde hij op achttienjarige leeftijd in de Ligue 1.
Intussen verzamelde hij bijna 100 wedstrijden in het Europese profvoetbal, verspreid over de Ligue 1, Ligue 2 en de Griekse Super League.
Met zijn duelkracht, explosiviteit en kwaliteiten in balbezit past Konaté perfect in het profiel dat de sportieve cel voor de rechtsachterpositie had uitgetekend.

CHEICK OUMAR KONATE SIGNS WITH SKB
SK Beveren has reached an agreement with Clermont Foot 63 over the permanent transfer of right-back Cheick Oumar Konaté.
The 22-year-old Malian international will sign a contract at the Freethiel until mid-2028, with an option for an additional season.
Konaté came through the youth academy at FC Guidars in Bamako and moved to Clermont Foot in 2022. There he made his debut in Ligue 1 at the age of eighteen.
Since then he has racked up nearly 100 matches in European professional football, spread across Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Greek Super League.
With his physical duels, explosiveness, and qualities on the ball, Konaté fits perfectly into the profile the sporting department had outlined for the right-back position.
