YONI GOMIS KEERT TERUG NAAR SK BEVEREN
SK Beveren heeft een akkoord bereikt met RC Strasbourg Alsace over de terugkeer van Yoni Gomis.
De 20-jarige Frans-Senegalese verdediger wordt ook tijdens het seizoen 2026-2027 gehuurd en sluit per direct opnieuw aan op de Freethiel.
Gomis kwam vorig seizoen al uit voor de club. Hij verzamelde 21 officiële optredens en speelde een belangrijke rol tijdens de beslissende fase van het kampioenenjaar. Na een ongelukkige start, die werd verstoord door enkele kleine blessures, ontwikkelde hij zich op fysiek, technisch en tactisch vlak tot een belangrijke speler in de terugronde. Gomis stond aan de aftrap in 11 van de laatste 12 wedstrijden van het seizoen.
De Franse jeugdinternational is in de eerste plaats een centrale verdediger die zowel links als rechts in een drie- of viermansdefensie uit de voeten kan. Daarnaast is hij dankzij zijn snelheid ook inzetbaar op beide backposities. Met zijn komst voegt SK Beveren niet alleen kwaliteit, maar ook tactische flexibiliteit en polyvalentie toe aan de selectie.
Gomis werkte de voorbereiding af bij Strasbourg en keert nu, zoals verhoopt, terug naar Beveren.
General Manager Sports Bob Peeters is tevreden met zijn terugkeer:
“We zijn zeer tevreden dat Yoni opnieuw bij ons aansluit. Hij heeft vorig seizoen grote stappen gezet, zowel als speler als als persoon. Tijdens de tweede helft van het seizoen heeft hij bewezen dat hij over het potentieel beschikt om ook in 1A een belangrijke speler voor SK Beveren te zijn. Hij kent de club, de omgeving en onze verwachtingen, maar heeft tegelijk nog veel groeimarge. Ik wil ook de mensen van RC Strasbourg Alsace uitdrukkelijk bedanken voor deze hernieuwde samenwerking.”
Ook Yoni kijkt ernaar uit om opnieuw in geel-blauw te spelen:

YONI GOMIS RETURNS TO SK BEVEREN
SK Beveren have reached an agreement with RC Strasbourg Alsace regarding the return of Yoni Gomis.
The 20-year-old French-Senegalese defender will be on loan again for the 2026-2027 season and rejoins the squad at Freethiel with immediate effect.
Gomis already played for the club last season. He made 21 official appearances and played an important role during the decisive phase of the championship year. After an unfortunate start, disrupted by a few minor injuries, he developed physically, technically and tactically into a key player during the second half of the season. Gomis started in 11 of the last 12 matches of the season.
The French youth international is primarily a central defender who can operate on both the left and right side of a back three or back four. Thanks to his pace, he can also be deployed in both full-back positions. With his arrival, SK Beveren add not only quality but also tactical flexibility and versatility to the squad.
Gomis completed pre-season with Strasbourg and now returns to Beveren, as hoped.
