CEO Bart Foubert neemt afscheid van SK Beveren: “De cirkel is rond”
Na zes seizoenen bij de club neemt CEO Bart Foubert afscheid van SK Beveren.
Foubert startte in 2020 als Operations Manager, werd vervolgens Chief Operating Officer en stond de voorbije twee seizoenen als CEO aan het hoofd van de club.
Onder zijn leiding professionaliseerde SK Beveren haar organisatie, versterkte de club haar lokale en maatschappelijke verankering en werd gericht geïnvesteerd in infrastructuur en beleving.
Het ongeslagen kampioenenjaar en de promotie naar de Jupiler Pro League vormen het sluitstuk van een bijzonder, maar ook zeer intensief traject.
“Toen ik hier zes jaar geleden begon, waren vernieuwing, verbinding en beleving de drie centrale begrippen in mijn visie voor de club”, licht Foubert zijn beslissing toe. “Vandaag kan ik met trots vaststellen dat we op elk van die domeinen belangrijke stappen hebben gezet. SK Beveren staat er zowel op als naast het veld veel sterker voor. Na een historisch seizoen voelt dit voor mij als het juiste moment om afscheid te nemen. De cirkel is rond.”
De verantwoordelijkheden van Foubert worden overgenomen door Brandon De Clercq, die sinds 2020 actief is als CFO van de club en voortaan zal instaan voor de niet-sportieve leiding van de club.
“Ik heb de voorbije zes jaar nauw en bijzonder goed met Bart samengewerkt. Zijn verdiensten voor de club zijn groot. We kunnen alleen maar dankbaar zijn voor zijn uitzonderlijke engagement, de vele uren die hij in de club heeft geïnvesteerd en de persoonlijke opofferingen die daarmee gepaard gingen”, aldus De Clercq.
“Als club zullen we verdergaan op de ingeslagen weg, voortbouwen op de fundamenten die zijn gelegd en SK Beveren op een verantwoorde en duurzame manier verder ontwikkelen, met respect voor de waarden, normen en tradities die samen het DNA van onze club vormen.”
Ook voorzitter Jo Van Moer blikt met grote waardering terug op de samenwerking met Foubert.
“In de vluchtige wereld die het profvoetbal soms kan zijn, was het een voorrecht om samen met Bart te kunnen dromen, denken en doen. Hij is een man met een missie en een duidelijke visie, maar ook met de creativiteit, het geduld en de energie om die stap voor stap te realiseren. De transformatie die de club de voorbije seizoenen heeft doorgemaakt, is onmiskenbaar een bron van fierheid.”

CEO Bart Foubert to leave SK Beveren
After six seasons at the club, CEO Bart Foubert is leaving SK Beveren. Foubert joined the club as Operations Manager in 2020, subsequently became Chief Operating Officer and has led the club as CEO for the past two seasons.
Under his leadership, SK Beveren further professionalized its organization, strengthened its local and community ties and made targeted investments in infrastructure and the overall matchday experience. The unbeaten title-winning campaign and promotion to the Jupiler Pro League mark the conclusion of a remarkable, but also extremely intensive, journey.
“When I arrived here six years ago, innovation, connection and experience were the three central pillars of my vision for the club,” Foubert explains. “Today, I am proud to say that we have made significant progress in each of those areas. SK Beveren is in a much stronger position, both on and off the pitch. Following a historic season, this feels like the right moment for me to step away. The circle is complete.”
Foubert’s responsibilities will be taken over by Brandon De Clercq, who has served as the club’s CFO since 2020 and will now assume responsibility for the club’s non-sporting management.
“I have worked very closely and extremely well with Bart over the past six years. His contribution to the club has been considerable. We can only be grateful for his exceptional commitment, the many hours he has invested in the club and the personal sacrifices that came with that,” De Clercq said.
“As a club, we will continue along the path we have chosen, build on the foundations that have been laid and further develop SK Beveren in a responsible and sustainable manner, while respecting the values, standards and traditions that together form the DNA of our club.”
Chairman Jo Van Moer also looks back on his collaboration with Foubert with great appreciation.

He is a man with a mission and a clear vision, but also with the creativity, patience and energy required to turn that vision into reality, step by step. The transformation the club has undergone in recent seasons is undeniably a source of great pride.”
