BRÜLS BLIJFT IN BEVEREN
Bijzonder goed nieuws op de eerste trainingsdag van het nieuwe seizoen: Christian Brüls zal ook in het seizoen 2026-2027 op de Freethiel te zien zijn! SK Beveren is erg opgetogen dat het de ervaren middenvelder een extra jaar aan boord heeft weten te houden.
Het verhaal van Christian Brüls bij SKB leest als een sprookje. Nadat hij in de play-offs van het seizoen ‘24-‘25 tegen Patro met rood van het veld werd gestuurd, richtte de ervaren middenvelder zich tot zijn ploegmaats én de geel-blauwe aanhang. Hij beloofde het volgende seizoen het voortouw te zullen nemen om de club terug te brengen waar ze thuishoort.
Het resultaat is gekend: Brüls speelde een fenomenaal seizoen en loodste SKB opnieuw naar de hoogste afdeling. Op 37-jarige leeftijd liet hij meer dan eens de Beverse monden openvallen. Ook zijn statistieken logen er niet om. De Oostkantonner trof vijf keer raak en kroonde zich met zestien beslissende passes tot Assistenkoning. Als persoonlijke kers op de taart werd onze metronoom, meer dan terecht, uitgeroepen tot Speler van het Seizoen in de Challenger Pro League.
Het hoeft dan ook niet te verbazen dat SK Beveren bijzonder trots is dat het erin geslaagd is om Christian Brüls ook komend seizoen aan boord te houden. Zijn ervaring, leiderschap en voetbalintelligentie zullen ook in de Jupiler Pro League van onschatbare waarde zijn.

Excellent news on the first day of pre-season: Christian Brüls will continue to wear the yellow and blue in the 2026-2027 campaign! SK Beveren is delighted to have secured the experienced midfielder’s services for another season.
Christian Brüls’ story at SK Beveren reads like a fairytale. After being sent off in the 2024-25 promotion play-off against Patro, the experienced midfielder addressed both his teammates and the yellow-and-blue faithful. He vowed to lead the club back to where it belongs the following season.
The outcome is well known. Brüls produced a phenomenal campaign, inspiring SK Beveren’s return to the top flight. At the age of 37, he repeatedly proved that age is just a number, dazzling the Freethiel crowd with his performances. His statistics spoke for themselves: the experienced Belgian scored five goals and topped the league’s assist charts with 16 assists. As the perfect personal reward, our midfield metronome was deservedly named Challenger Pro League Player of the Season.
It therefore comes as no surprise that SK Beveren is extremely proud to have kept Christian Brüls at the Freethiel for another season. His experience, leadership and football intelligence will once again be invaluable as the club returns to the Jupiler Pro League.
