WELKOM OP DE FREETHIEL, RAYMOND JUNIOR DIOUF!

SK Beveren maakt werk van de toekomst. De 19-jarige Senegalese aanvaller Raymond Junior Diouf ondertekende bij geel-blauw een overeenkomst tot 2028 mét optie op een extra jaar op de Freethiel.

Diouf maakte indruk bij de Grand Canyon Antelopes in de Verenigde Staten, waar hij in zijn debuutseizoen in de NCAA Division I achttien doelpunten maakte. Daarmee noteerde hij de beste statistieken voor een zogeheten ‘freshman’ sinds 2010.

Met die prestaties kwam de groeidiamant op de radar van verschillende Europese clubs. Diouf koos uiteindelijk voor het project van SK Beveren.

De club ziet in Diouf een speler met potentieel op langere termijn. De aanvaller krijgt de tijd en ruimte om zijn talent verder te ontwikkelen en zich aan te passen aan een nieuwe omgeving en competitie.

Diouf zal meetrainen met de A-kern, maar zal in eerste instantie aantreden bij de U21.

RAYMOND JUNIOR DIOUF JOINS BEVEREN!

SK Beveren is building for the future. The 19-year-old Senegalese striker Raymond Junior Diouf has signed a contract with the yellow-and-blue side until 2028, with an option for an additional year at the Freethiel.

Diouf made an impression with the Grand Canyon Antelopes in the United States, where he scored eighteen goals in his debut season in NCAA Division I. In doing so, he recorded the best statistics for a “freshman” since 2010.

These performances put the rising talent on the radar of several European clubs. Diouf ultimately chose the project of SK Beveren.

The club sees Diouf as a player with long-term potential. The striker will be given the time and space to further develop his talent and adapt to a new environment and competition.

Diouf will train with the first team but will initially play for the U21s.
